Sport Relief 2018
21st March 2018
Sport Relief falls on Friday 23rd March this year and the Reception Team at Aizlewood's Mill are going all out to make it a day of challenges and fitness fun.
Cath's OFO Challenge- Cath will be building up a sweat by aiming to fill our front car park with as many OFO bikes as she can get her hands on. Her challenge is to locate an OFO bike using the OFO bike app, collect the bike and return with it to The Mill, and repeat until she either gets blocked by OFO or her time is up. We are permitting her to persuade other people to help her on this challenge and if you want to take part in any way please let us know. We are asking for sponsors to donate at least 10p per bike that she returns to The Mill, Cath is estimating that she will be able to collect at least 10 bikes. If you are able to sponsor Cath there will be a sponsor form in Reception this week, or you can email us at reception@aizlewoodsmill.com
Bake Sale- In keeping with tradition, we will be holding a bake sale in Reception and would be extremely grateful if you could assist us by donating any cakes that we can sell on the day. For any budding Mary Berry’s out there (and we know you are there) home baked treats always go down well, but if you are not talented in the baking department then shop bought goods will be just as gratefully received. We hope to sell the cakes in Reception from around 10.30 am.
Reception Stairwell Relay- The remaining members of the Reception team will be keeping a constant flow of tread on our main stairs for a fixed time during the day. We will be available to run any business related errands for you, in return for a small donation to our sport relief collection. These may involve delivering milk, delivering post, collecting post, delivering cake from our cake sale, walking your dog……you get the idea. Please bring in any loose change you have to help fill our collection bucket.
There are so many different ways you can get involved with Sport Relief from joining the National Billion Step Challenge to joining in the office fun. It's a great opportunity to not only get involved with your communities to help those less able or in need but also to boost well being and morale in the workplace.
Sport Relief raises money for so many different organisations and smaller charity groups and there are many in our local area that will benefit from the money we collectively raise. Some of the organisations and charities that have benefitted from Sport Relief grants in the past are;
Interchange Sheffield CIC, a Sheffield based emotional and wellbeing service for young people under the age of 25. They provide a range of interventions aimed at supporting their emotional well-being and mental health, including counselling, art therapy, therapeutic group work, resilience building and mental health awareness raising workshops. http://interchangesheffield.org.uk/
High Street Centre in Rawmarsh, a Rotherham based community organistation who's mission is to enable, equip and establish services that make the local community a better place to live and work. http://hscrawmarsh.org/
Good Things Foundation, a Sheffield based social change charity helping people change thier lives through digital, working in thousands of communities across the UK and internationally. www.goodthingsfoundation.org They have partenered with Google to enable the Google Digital Garage to work with members of society to improve digital skills and prospects for the community. www.goodthingsfoundation.org
Here at Aizlewood's Mill, we hope to bring our business community together to raise money for these and the many other organisations that benefit from Sport Relief and we hope that you enjoy the day too!
